Frozen (2013) Known Trivia

  • As pointed out in a message board written by an IMDb user regarding the film, Anna, Hans, and Kristof are all named after Hans Christian Andersen: Prince Hans as in Hans, (Krist)of as in (Christ)ian, and (An)na as in (An)dersen. Frozen 2013 8 of 8 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • Prince Hans is named after Hans Christian Andersen, a famed and influential Danish fairy tale poet and author of “The Red Shoes”, “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, “The Ugly Duckling”, “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”, “The Little Match Girl”, “The Little Mermaid”, and “The Snow Queen”; the last of which the movie is based on. Frozen 2013 Disney Animation also adapted various Andersen’s fairy tales into animated short or feature-length films: The Little Mermaid, The Little Matchgirl, “The Steadfast Tin Soldier” segment in Fantasia/2000, the “Ugly Duckling” plot element in Lilo & Stitch, and the title of The Emperor’s New Groove is derived from that of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. Frozen 2013 6 of 6 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • A live reindeer was brought into the animating studio for animators to study its movements and mannerisms for the reindeer character, Sven. Frozen 2013 Co-director Jennifer Lee said it was the best moment during production for her. Frozen 2013 3 of 3 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • The original Danish fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, on which this film is based, is a personal favorite work of Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark Margrethe II. Frozen 2013 4 of 5 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • Kristen Bell stated that with Frozen, she has fulfilled a lifelong dream of voicing an animated character ever since she saw The Little Mermaid and Aladdin as a kid. Frozen 2013 When she was around that same age, she recorded a voice box where she sang a couple of songs from The Little Mermaid, including “Part of Your World”. Frozen 2013 Her Little Mermaid vocal tracks were part of the reason why she got the part of Anna, as director Jennifer Lee said to her that if she hadn’t recorded her own vocal tracks from Mermaid, it would’ve been very difficult to the find the right one to play Anna. Frozen 2013 4 of 5 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • Walt Disney Animation Studios attempted several times before to develop Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale “The Snow Queen” into a film in the 2000s but it never worked. Frozen 2013 They first tried it in 2002, and master animator Glen Keane infamously quit the project, then it was scrapped. Frozen 2013 “The Snow Queen” was resurfaced again in 2009 and John Lasseter recruited directors Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale (Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Atlantis: The Lost Empire) to helm the project. Frozen 2013 Producer Don Hahn and writer Linda Woolverton also signed on to the project, alongside Alan Menken and Glenn Slater who were commissioned to write the songs. Frozen 2013 In 2010, the film was put on hold, rather than be put back in development hell again, as Disney worked out a way on how to make the story work. Frozen 2013 2 of 2 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • Elsa is the second Disney royal role for Idina Menzel. Frozen 2013 At the end of Enchanted, her character Nancy Tremaine went to Andalasia and married Prince Edward. Frozen 2013 2 of 2 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |
  • During preproduction on the film, the film’s production, art, lighting, and design leads teams went to Wyoming, Quebec, Canada, and Norway in order to study and gain an appreciation for the environment for the film, such as walking through snow (Wyoming), make observations of how light reflects and refracts on snow and ice (Quebec, Canada), and to gain an inspirational natural look on ice, mountains, water, and other elements needed for the story (Norway). Frozen 2013 “We had a very short time schedule for this film, so our main focus was really to get the story right but we knew that John Lasseter is keen on truth in the material and creating a believable world, and again that doesn’t mean it’s a realistic world – but a believable one. Frozen 2013 It was important to see the scope and scale of Norway, and important for our animators to know what it’s like,” Peter Del Vecho, the film’s producer, said. Frozen 2013 “There is a real feeling of Lawrence of Arabia scope and scale to this,” he finished. Frozen 2013 3 of 4 found this interesting Interesting? YesNo |

This show is incredible. The graphics for this is amazing, they put alot of effort of the characters and the music. The music is wonderful. This show is very good especially for young kids as they love fairytales such as this. I recommend this show for all young kids and all ofthose fan of Disney. The director really pick the right voice of Annaand Elsa. This show also is good as they tell how two sisters copewhile one them is so much different then a human as she has a powerfulmagic that can turn things to ice and snow. Elsa is by far theinteresting character compared toAnna……………………………That's all of my review

A lot of people criticize Frozen for what it isn't. Their preferredsetting, cast, etc. Not for what it is. It is an incredibly touchingstory with fantastic music, score, script and performances by Menzeland Bell we haven't heard in a long time. I took 117 nieces and nephewsages 18 months to 14 and not once did any of them get up to ' go to thebathroom' or get more snacks. Boys, girls were both drawn to the filmthe whole time. The younger kids responded more to Olaf than thethematics of it all.

The story centers more on the sisters relationship than a romantic oneand has a great message. I would recommend this to any family or Disneyfan.

You will be singing the songs over and over.

Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios are both hoping to get back on trackwith a spotlight victory after recent losses. Alas, only one of thefighters will emerge from the The Venetian Macao with that much-neededtriumph and the WBO International Welterweight title. Pacquiao (54-5-2,38 KO) is on the first two-fight losing streak of his career. He lost acontroversial decision to Timothy Bradley last June and was knocked outby rival Juan Manuel Marquez. The losses have led to banter about howmuch the eight-division champion has left in the tank. Rios (31-1-1, 23KO) knocked out Mike Alvarado in their first meeting, but Alvarado wonthe rematch by unanimous decision. "Bam Bam" has been waiting for hisshot at one of the biggest names in the sport, but the loss raisedquestions about his ability to complete with "Pac-Man." All told, it'sa crucial bout for both fighters as they look to shift the conversationback in a positive direction following those recent setbacks. So let'stake a look at the key information for their clash, followed by apreview and prediction.

At his best, Pacquiao was able to use his outstanding combination ofpower and quickness to systematically wear down opponents. He wouldglide around the ring searching for the right angles, attack witheffective strikes, especially with his left, and move away before anopponent could counter. Some troublesome signs have started to developin recent years, though. After scoring a high rate of knockouts earlyin his career, Pacquiao has gone six straight fights without one. Hehas four decision victories and two losses over that span, with hislast knockout coming all the way back in 2009 against Miguel Cotto. While the lack of knockouts would suggest fading power, Pac-Man'squickness and experience allowed him to keep winning fights. In hislosses to Bradley and Marquez, however, he didn't show the same type ofring speed, either. Even though the dips in power and speed arelimited, that's all it takes for top opponents to close the gap andBradley and Marquez did exactly that. After an extended layoff by hisstandards, the task for Pacquiao is showing he's back in top form. Towin, he must rely heavily on his movement to avoid the big shots Riosis going to spend a lot of time trying to deliver. If he can wear downthe American with relentless shots to the body, it should sap Rios'power for the latter rounds and put Pacquiao in command. If there's onefact that illustrates Rios, it's that he hasn't scored a unanimousdecision win since a 2006 battle with Humberto Tapia. He holds aterrific 17-1-1 record since that bout, but if he can't score theknockout, the scorecards are usually a toss-up. As he found out in therematch with Alvarado, letting the judges decide close fights iseventually going to result in a loss. With more experience againsttop-end opponents, he should begin to further understand the importanceof winning individual rounds as opposed always seeking the knockout.Being too aggressive opens the door to counterattacks and lets foessteal rounds late. That said, power is Rios' biggest asset and he can'tafford to completely change his approach for the matchup with Pacquiao. As Marquez illustrated, there are opportunities against theeight-division champion for a well-timed haymaker. The biggest key forRios is his defense. He's gone through two straight brawls withAlvarado, which is the type of fight he prefers, even though he droppedthe rematch. Pacquiao is going to use a more methodical approach, whichwill force Bam Bam to utilize patience. Ultimately, it's a fight hedefinitely has an opportunity to win. Pacquiao hasn't been at his bestin recent bouts and this is the type of win Rios needs to take thatnext step. He just can't try to do too much early on and have nothingleft for the later rounds. The fight should be pretty even for aboutthe first six rounds. Pacquiao should be able to win early as Riossettles in. Then the underdog should settle in and start using thatpower to level things out heading into the second half of the bout. From there, Pacquiao's big-fight experience should prove vital. Heknows how to pace himself to go the distance while Rios is going to usea lot of energy looking for the knockout. Pac-Man should take advantageof that to score a late KO of his own.

Disney, when are you ever going to join the 21st century? Its animationstudio just stays living in the past. The new Disney film Frozen couldhave easily been made in the 1940's. It is based on a classic fairytale known as The Snow Queen. But you would think that in 2013 theymight try to make it appeal to people today. Well you'd be wrong.

If you've seen the trailer for this movie, they market it as a moviemore in the vein of Ice Age. There's a funny-looking snowman walking onice and struggling to stay on his feet; he later winds up sneezing sohard that he blows his head off. All you see is the snowman and alikable moose. Instead, Frozen is actually a ridiculously old-fashionedmovie about princesses. This movie is more like The Sound of Music thananything from this century. The songs all sound old and dated, justlike everything else in the movie. The only good thing in the movie isthat snowman, and they don't even bring him in until halfway throughthe film.

I understand that this is a movie aimed at kids, but most knowledgeablefilm studios nowadays at least try to entertain the adults watching aswell. I was bored out of my mind. Then after briefly falling asleep, Iwoke up to see a prince trying to decapitate the princess with a sword.Sure, that's what little kids want to see. Sorry if I ruined that foryou but hopefully it will keep you away from the film then. Of coursethere will be children who enjoy the film simply because it's ananimated fairy tale, and little kids don't expect much anyway. Butsomething tells me that people in their 80's will enjoy thisold-fashioned crap just as much. It opens on November 27 but try toenjoy your Thanksgiving by not seeing it.
